Grey Chawan Bowl

A Matcha Bowl, also called Chawan, is the best tool for whisking up that perfect bowl of matcha. Crafted from clay, with a beautiful floral pattern on it, the higher sides of this bowl make it easier to whisk up your matcha without spilling it. If you preheat the clay bowl, it will also help keep your tea warmer for longer.

How to Use it

Add 2 1-2 grams of matcha powder to the bowl and then add in 100-150ml of 160-170 degrees water and whisk the powder into the water using a bamboo whisk or chasen

Benefits of the Chawan

The Chawan is the traditonal bowl used to both prepare and drink matcha tea. The heaviness of the bowl conveys a sense of importance and the shape of the bowl makes it easier to whisk up the matcha to create a foamy bowl of tea for you and your guest. After whisking up the matcha, you can either drink it directly out of the Chawan or you can pour it into a glass.
